Enjoy some fun social distancing! Karenville is an experience. Its a Fairyland. It's more than off the grid. A tiny Victorian village of tiny "homes" built by Karen. Happily this is far from anything you might see on HGTV (whatever that is). It’s a place where you can sleep in and among Karen’s art. Tiny and fun!

Karenville is more than just a place to sleep. My guests say it's magical. Perhaps it's something like camping only way more fun! No electric and no running water and no need for either.
You can enjoy everything Karenville has to offer and still have your own space. This Fairyland Playhouse is just outside the "village" which is a grouping of tiny buildings all built by Karen. There is a "Cafe" "Church" "Hotel" "glass house" and so much more. Karenville is completely off the grid and electric free. (I have been living electric free for over 20 years). A fun thing to do is pump water from a well using a hundred year old hand pump. We have two cooking areas. One stove is in the "Cafe" and the other stove is outside under a roof. So bring some food to cook and eat. It is absolutely impossible to describe Karenville. My guest say "it's magical, mysterious and oh so awesome". Read a few of our over one thousand reviews for a better idea of what other people say we have here in the village.

The playhouse is small. You must duck to enter, however once inside you can stand tall. It has a comfy single size bed for one person or two if you like to snuggle. It also has a sink, some shelves and a nice sitting porch that overlooks a lovely meadow. There is no heat in K-Vill’s Play House but hopefully during your stay it will be warm and sunny. The Playhouse and Karenville is sure to make your weekend memorable.

Families with children

Although children love Karenville, kids under 10 or 12 may not be appropriate. This is a quiet retreat for some and a romantic getaway for others. Therefore loud or high energy children may be disturbing. I totally welcome you and your children if you think this is an appropriate place for you and your family.

I am a fun and sometimes silly person. But most of all I have a strong connection to the wild things around me. I especially like the simple things in life. Some of my favorite things to do is, hiking, boating, enjoying my pets, building or painting something, contra dancing, riding my vintage bicycle, looking at old architecture, showering under the rain spout, cooking over an open fire, having a great adventure, learning about cultural differences, gardening, sailing the winter months away in Florida and alligator hunting and ofcourse hanging around home (both in NY and FL) doing whatever.
Things I do not enjoy are sports, shopping, fashion, and watching tv. But sure love my Guinea pigs and my parrot Rickie, my pony Tangles, my life partners and my guests.

About Karenville;
I built the many buildings in Karenville for my own enjoyment and pleasure. But then I wasn't sure what to do with all these silly buildings. Someone said I should put it on Airbnb. Without electric or running water I was sure no one would come. Wow! was I ever surprised. And now, suddenly, I'm paying lots of taxes.

My future hope for Karenville is that it may amuse and stimulate a new way of thinking and feeling for everyone who visits. And that all who visit K-ville leave with smiles on their faces.
