Cottage style decor with shabby chic and slip-covered furniture. We are 3-1/2 miles from the North Bend (McCullough) Bridge and only about 5 miles from the nearest beach, Horsfall Beach and the famous sand dunes. You will enjoy your privacy in this quiet little guest house with a very big and gorgeous view, although it is on a residential property that is shared with the main residence. Experience many lovely sunsets right out your living room window.

We are a non smoking, no vaping residence; and sorry no pets. This little cottage is ideal for travel nurses or other travel professionals who may be coming to Coos Bay's Bay Area Hospital or local medical clinics. You will appreciate the quiet and privacy available here. The cottage is surrounded by decking and the view is amazing! The rear of the deck is 10" x 24" and furnished for your enjoyment and includes a grill for your use.
Not practical for parties larger than two people.

Semi rural area with houses on either side but hidden in the trees. We are on the water facing across the bay looking toward the town of North Bend. We are just outside the city limits by about 3-4 miles (or 1.5 miles if you can fly across the water).

We came to North Bend in 2001 to take care of Jan's parents for the last 6 years of their lives. We now own and live in the home they built in the 70's (finished in 1973). The guest house is the cottage we are offering to travelers who are coming to the Oregon Coast and is where we lived for the 6 years we took care of the folks. Jan grew up here (lived in the neighborhood right across the bay!), having graduated from North Bend High School in 1969... so we are pretty knowledgeable about the area, about what to do and see while you are here. Ace is from the East Coast and is currently restoring the main house on the property.

We are the second generation to own this property. It was designed and built by Jan's parents. They sat on a stump of a tree overlooking the bay and drew out the plans for their dream home to retire in placing every thought into maximizing the view. They built the cottage first and lived in it while building the main house. After that the "guest house" welcomed travelers from all over the world... even an occasional hitch-hiker was invited to stay back in the 1970's and 1980's. We have a history of old guest books with entries written in many different languages.

We are friendly and personable but also have a lot of respect for your privacy. Your space is a separate cottage on the property so you can come and go as you please day or night. We do have a lot of knowledge of the local area and attractions and always happy to give you ideas of what to see or do. We are as available as you need but can also be as invisible as you may wish.
