Fige apartment is a self-catering apartment on the 1st floor of a traditionally decorated house in the medina of Essaouira. There is one double bedroom, a large salon, a small kitchen and bathroom. The roof terrace, which is shared with the other two apartments in the building, is spacious and overlooks the main market street of the medina.

Essaouira is very relaxed and laidback compared to some other resorts. The apartment is quiet despite being very central in the medina.

Although I still work part-time as a teacher in London, I try to spend time by the sea as much as possible whether that be in Margate, Morocco or Mbour (Senegal, West Africa). Although these places are far from each other geographically they actually have a lot in common: the sea, the people, the art and culture.
Between work I enjoy painting, mosaic-making, swimming, salsa and yoga and am trying to plan for these within holiday plans for myself and others.
About Margate- both apartments are minutes from the station and the beach, both also have sea views.
About Morocco- Blue Caravan Apartments- although in the centre of the medina, with shops moments away on foot, the accomodataion is quiet and there is a spacious shared roof terrace which overlooks the medina . There are only 3 apartments so often you will be able to have the terrace to yourself. There is wifi in the building.
Halima looks after the house, the cats (Nuage (cloud) and Abu Bakar are regular visitors to the front-door at feeding time) . She makes sure the house is 'spick and span' and will check in on you every morning to make sure everything is going well.
Because the apartments are self-catering it is a good idea to take a trip to the local carrefour early in your trip to stock up on especially if you plan to cook at home regularly. Fresh bread, milk, fruit, water, loo paper and other basics are however available a few metres from the house. All taxis in Essaouira have a set tarif of 8 dhiram (less than a euro) which makes the supermarket trip hassle-free.
There is a washing machine but this is not generally accessible to clients unless renting for a longer-term. However, if needed or in an emegency, please ask Halima. Also for guests staying in winter there are heaters available. Again please ask. We may request a nominal extra charge for this.
