Nimmanhaemin neighbourhood has become quite a destination by itself for those who come to visit Chiang Mai in recent years.

Sandwiched between the main campus of Chiang Mai University (CMU) and the Chiang Mai old town, "Nimman" has become a place where locals, expats and students come to chill out during the day and after work.

The neighbourhood has solidified itself further as the coffee culture in the city develops with most of Chiang Mai top coffee shops all having a presence in Nimman.

By day, Nimman has got it all from the "Tong Tem Toh", one of the most famous Northern Thai cuisine establishments here in Chiang Mai, all the way to early afternoon brunch that you'd expect to find in places like Seattle or Melbourne. By night, Nimman, along with Huay Keaw Rd is famous for a selection of pubs, clubs and bars, thanks to its proximity to CMU.

But if you're looking to go to the old town for true Chiang Mai cultural experience, the old town can be reached within 10 mins drive or 20 mins walk (if you don't mind the heat)

Wat Doi Suthep is only 20 min drive from our property.

I was born in Chiang Mai, Thailand but spent much of my time abroad-now choosing Bangkok, Thailand as a base. I am working in real estate development and M&A. I travel regularly for work but always keen to add new places to my travel map.
