Looking to escape for a bit or enjoy a peaceful environment for a bit? The Zen Den is a private room with a private entrance, stocked with everything to make your stay as pleasurable as possible!

The Zen Den is an additional room, added onto the century old home quite some time ago, but has recently been remodeled with a full private bathroom. The Den is 1 mile from downtown, 8 miles from the beach.

Two other airbnb spaces are on the property.

The Zen Den is located the back of the home, through the backyard gate with a wooden fence. The Zen Den is a quaint, cozy space with a personal A/C-heater wall unit to adjust the temperature upon arrival. The room shares a wall with one other airbnb room suite, and the backyard is shared with the host family and all airbnb units on the property (3 in total).

The private oasis is one mile from the historic downtown riverwalk located on the Cape Fear, and is located a block from New Hanover High School, in inner-city Wilmington.

It is a diverse, ever changing neighborhood with lots to do within walking distance or a short drive. Just 3 blocks from the Den is The Roasters Coffee Shop, Metro Closet Consignment Boutique, Crofton's Pretzels (their stuffed pretzels are a must try!) White Front Restaurant (old school diner), Domino's Pizza, Crofton's Pretzels (amazing stuffed pretzels, locally owned), public playgrounds, Robert Strange Pool (outdoor community pool with lanes to swim and a slide) and more. Headed in the other direction is Hi-Wire Brewing (family friendly), Retroscape Vintage Video Game lounge (we are the owners! come say hi!), Folk's Cafe (a local favorite), Love that Baby Art Gallery, and more.

Take a walk West on historic Market Street just a block from the Zen Den to see many historic homes or head East down Dock Street towards Carolina Place Neighborhood and get lost looking at all of the unique homes!

There is also a Gas Station, Family Dollar, Cape Fear Museum, and a kids' playground (Robert Strange Park) within blocks of the Zen Den.

As mentioned previously, the Zen Den is located in Inner-City Wilmington so you will see people from all walks of life, it's city life! If you feel uncomfortable with that, again, this is not the airbnb for you.

I am a devoted husband and father to our 2 boys (12-9-19, 11-21-21), a spirited rescue hound, Myles, as well as cat, Azalea. Our family loves to camp, travel, hike, and bicycle. Anything outdoors, we're there. My wife was a local school teacher (now on break for baby) at a middle school a few blocks away and also volunteers her time as her school's Trailblazer Running Team coach. She is also an avid runner. I work as a videographer. Together we own Pierce Productions, a videography and photography business. We love capturing what's most important to others!

I also opened a vintage video game lounge just blocks away from our place. We are at 1123 Princess Street, called "Retroscape". We have video games from the 70s-2000s, gamer grub, knick knacks, and vintage clothing. Come on in and I will give you some free play time!!!

We have completely renovated our quaint, cozy, and private upstairs apartment area (bird's nest) and 2 downstairs rooms (zen den, and retro room) and are happy to offer them to those visiting the beautiful city of Wilmington and surrounding areas.

We see ourselves as very accommodating hosts, but never nosy. If you need us, we are there, and if you want your space, we totally dig it!

Hosts live within the home downstairs, in a separate entrance from the Zen Den. Dylan is the owner/operator of Retroscape, a new retro video game lounge blocks away from the home!

Dylan also works as a content creator/videographer for the family business, Pierce Productions. Ann Marie is a youth running coach, photographer for Pierce Productions, mother, and school teacher on break, as she raises our son born in December of 2019.

We allow you to make the decision if you would like us to interact or allow you privacy and time alone. We are here to make your stay as pleasurable as possible.

You may hear us go about our lives from time to time because we do live on the other side of the wall.

We provide noise cancelling options such as the personal AC/heater, sound machine, dehumidifier, bluetooth radio, and TV.
