The Trailside Airbnb @ Mile 73 is the premier adventure basecamp located on the Alaska Dog Center campus. Upstairs features a spacious south facing open floor plan with queen size bed, pocket full size bed, table for four, work desk with guest access to an iMac + wifi. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, hot shower, wood + gas stoves and a cozy dining downstairs. Netflix and Disney+ are on us! Relax on the "super deck" with a gourmet meal and drinks from our very own Trailside Cafe located nearby.

Guests have use and access to the entire Trailside VIP Airbnb building. The well-equipped kitchen downstairs features granite counter tops, full electric range and oven, coffee maker and microwave. A full dining table situated next to the Blazeking woodstove makes for a relaxing and truly Alaskan experience. Upstairs features a work desk with iMac, table for four, plenty of sunshine and an open floor plan with the queen master bed and full size bed.

As a courtesy due to our rural location, we offer guests two options for food. The first is our Trailside Cafe @ Mile 73 serving fresh delicious meals, milkshakes, smoothies and desserts. The Trailside Cafe is open noon to 10pm daily. In addition to Alaska's most unique take out cafe, we offer a simple a la carte "Traveler's Pantry" with items located on top of the kitchen cabinets. There are a lot of reasons why this could become a delicious convenience and the current menu includes:

Easy on/off the highway from Anchorage to Fairbanks with plenty of parking and room for trailers. Located just north of Hatcher's Pass and Nancy Lakes Recreation Areas and just south of Little Susitna Landing and Little Willow Creek. It is two hours to Denali from here and 45 minutes to Talkeetna.

We are dog lovers to the core, and we have 33 gorgeous sled dogs at our compound in Alaska to prove it. We take enormous pride in welcoming guests from both near and far away. We are deeply motivated by the fact that people just like you choose us for their private, peaceful and pet friendly getaways, often including special anniversaries and birthdays.

I am a wildland firefighter, sleddog (skijor) racer, backcountry guide, river runner, powder skier, community supporter and long-time lover of Colorado & Alaska. I split time between the two states, having moved 90 minutes north of Anchorage 5 years ago to build our tour and hospitality business. In Alaska, I lead the Type 1 Incident Management Team (wildfires/disasters) as Lead Public Information Officer. In Colorado, for over 25 years I've been a wildland firefighter, community member and supporter, volunteer paramedic, backcountry skier and business owner.

The towns, trails, rivers and people who make these places we call home so special have been a huge part of my life for the past 2.5 decades. With the help of close friends, I build the houses you stay in. My team includes Carrie Pavlat in Alaska and Katy Goldsberry in Colorado. We are supported by a great group of teammates who believe in creating spaces that are out of the ordinary, super efficient, and surrounded by beauty. My passion is to build spaces that offer you a great value, where you can feel relaxed, connected to nature, well cared for and at peace.

For all of our guests we offer complimentary tee, coffee, decaf, spices and well stocked kitchens, as well as Netflix & Disney+.

The Trailside Airbnb at the Alaska Dog Center is situated in the main building with the "Private Residence" signs. The two story blue building with beautiful south facing windows is entirely yours during your stay. The huge 24 76 foot long "Super Deck" is shared between our Airbnb guests and customers visiting the gift shop at Alaska Dog Center, or guests enjoying delicious take out food at the Trailside Cafe located 30 yards away. Many guests visit our staff at the mushing gear & gift store, enjoy the special rates we give guests for dog sled tours, and enjoy soups, salads and treats from the Trailside Cafe.
