Shipwreck Coast Guest Suites is located on a quiet cul-de-sac at the end of the Ucluelet Peninsula. Licensed by the District of Ucluelet, our bright, ground level, near waterfront open concept Beachcomber Suite has a queen size bed, dining table and chairs, 55" UHD TV and a fully equipped kitchenette with microwave. Complimentary tea and coffee. The en-suite bathroom has a claw-foot tub and custom shower. Private entry has a covered patio area. Steps from the Wild Pacific Trail.

Our Beachcomber Suite is the perfect spot to start your exploration of the West Coast. The ground level private entrance has a covered outdoor seating area and is just a few steps to the ocean. Our enhanced cleaning protocols means that the suite is thoroughly sanitized using government approved disinfectants, ultra-violet light and ozone. All commonly touched surfaces are given special attention. We encourage our guests to bring their own hand sanitizer. Bright and airy on the inside, the open-concept suite of approximately 650 sq. ft. (60 sq m), has a queen size bed with a seating area. The dining area has a table and chairs, suitable for laptop use. The kitchenette includes a small fridge, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee maker and kettle. Tea and coffee is supplied. The luxurious 4-piece en-suite bathroom has a custom shower. Shampoo and conditioner are provided. The deep claw-foot bathtub is great for soaking in after a day of adventuring. Slip on a bathrobe an relax. You can watch many TV channels on the 55" 4KTV including free Netflix and Prime Video. There is wireless fiber-optic 150 Mbps high-speed internet. The large landscaped front garden has a picnic table for outdoor dining and chairs to relax in. Picnic basket and beach towels available on request. There is free parking on-site right outside the suite.

To get here from the mainland requires a trip on BC Ferries. It is highly recommended that you make a reservation. Allow at least 3 hours to get here from the ferry terminals in Nanaimo. There is currently road reconstruction near Kennedy Lake which involves some overnight closures and periods of top of the hour openings and single-lane alternating traffic. Please check Drive BC for the latest updates.
We are located on a quiet cul-de-sac at the end of the Ucluelet peninsula, about 3 km from the town centre. The Wild Pacific Trail is steps from our door. One can often spot whales from the Wild Pacific Trail from March through November while they are on their annual migration. November is the start of storm-watching season, when the winds can gust to 100 km/hr, and waves can reach heights of over 10 metres, or 30 feet.
Deer often frequent our yard, and being on the Pacific flyway, there are many bird species to be seen, especially bald eagles. The mud flats at Spring Cove, a short walk away, is recognized by the International Birding Association as an important resting place for migratory waterfowl. River otters are sometimes seen in the cove in front, or from the Trail, and you may see the occasional mink.
Our unique location offers access to a secluded cove, with a rugged tidal island which shelters a variety of wildlife, including deer, eagles and herons, and may be explored at low tide.
You can also arrange for a massage at Melt Massage Therapy, which is just next door.
Local activities include surfing, fishing, bird watching, wildlife viewing, zip-lining, and of course exploring the 8.5 km of the Wild Pacific Trail system, and the beaches and trails of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.
We are located 20 minutes by car from the beaches of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, about 25 minutes from Tofino airport, and roughly 45 minutes from Tofino. The ferries in Nanaimo are roughly 3 hours away, and the drive from Victoria is a little over 4 hours driving time.
While our minimum stay is 2 nights, we recommend staying for 3 in order to fully appreciate all the area has to offer, as you will have been traveling all day to get here.

We are a retired couple who moved to Ucluelet in July 2012. We love the friendliness of the town, and the wilderness that surrounds it. We volunteer at many community events such as the Pacific Rim Whale Festival and Ukee Days. Ed is a Director of the The Wild Pacific Trail Society. Gardening is a favourite pastime, both indoors and out. Ed is an orchid hobbyist and amateur photographer, and Julie is an exceptional cook and loves kayaking. Julie is also a Marriage Commissioner for the Tofino -Ucluelet area, and performs civil marriages.
We like to share the natural beauty that surrounds us with our guests, and really enjoy meeting people from all over the world and from all walks of life.
Since we opened our doors in June 2015, we have welcomed over 500 guests from all over the world. We are very proud to be Airbnb Superhosts since the beginning, and we are looking forward to hosting you so that you can explore and experience the beauty of Canada’s West Coast.
