This is a New York style bagel place. This is the closest place for breakfast. You can see the store from the front porch. They have a variety of salmon and whitefish. My favorite is the Pastrami Nova. Bring me one if you go, just kidding, well may be not ;)

Perhaps the best BBQ in KC. This of course is very subjective. No doubt one of the best. They are crazy busy so make reservations or order take out. Consider walking since parking can be a challenge during lunch and dinner.

This is one of my favorite spots for a special dinner and/or drinks. This is at the top of the Hotel Sorella and has great views of the plaza. They also offer happy hour 3-7 M-F. Valet parking is free, just tell them you are going to the restaurant.

Drinks & Nightlife

This is one of 3 bars walking distance to the house. All 3 also serve food late and offer brunch. There is a shuttle service that for $10 will take you to 5 different Kansas City bar districts. Party all night long between River Market, Downtown Loop, Crossroads, W 39th Street & Westport. Mo Brew is also a good place to watch a game. Menu's are in the house book

This is a speakeasy in the basement of the Reiger Restaurant. They specialize in creating handcrafted, original and classic cocktails using only the finest and freshest of ingredients with a meticulous attention to detail. Served in a cozy, dark, sexy lounge beneath the restaurant. Reservations are strongly recommended for weekend nights. This is rather pricey (but really good) so go for one drink then venture out to explore other places in the cross roads.

Toms Town has a larger space than Manifesto, wonderful cocktails & they serve food. This is from their web site - Tom’s Town Distilling Co. is downtown Kansas City’s first legal distillery since Prohibition. Drawing inspiration from the country’s most polarizing and corrupt political boss, Tom Pendergast, Tom’s Town brings to life the glamorous magnetism of the Gatsby-era. Rooted in a deco optimism, Kansas City flouted Prohibition under the Pendergast machine. “King Tom’s” irreverence for federal statutes in favor of bare-knuckled local capitalism allowed his town to emerge as the “Paris of the Plains.” Spirits, money,
