Neighbourhoods
It's a 20 minute walk into Bungay where you will find a range of independent retailers on Earsham Street, some great bakeries and cafes, Bigod's castles, charity shops on St Marys Street and a pharmacy should you need it.
There are some great pubs too, The Fleece for restaurant quality fine dining, the Green Dragon brews it's own beer and has a large beer garden and by the time you read this the Chequers may have reopened. The Three Tun's occasionally has music and is generally very quiet or really rowdy! The Queens Head in Earsham is less that two miles away and also brews it's own beer and if your timings are right you might see a barn owl en route!
The 'superstore' in Bungay is in fact a medium sized co-op sometimes referred to as the Rainbow, its a 5 minute walk up Hillside and the only place in town to get fuel for your car!
There's a play park next to the Doctors surgery on St Johns Street and the community centre is next door.
Take a detour into town via Falcom Meadow and cross the Waveney twice coming into Bungay via the painted houses of Bridge Street.

Dunwich beach is fantastic whether you park up at the National Trusts coastguard cottages and combine it with a scone and walk on the heathlands or park in the village and take in the ruins and a pint at the Ship Inn - make it work your way!

Southwold has the perfect mix of beach and town. A huge beach that stretches from the pier to Gunhill for kite flying, sandcastle making, swimming, stone painting, glass collecting, walking and more.
There is a speedboat called the Voyager too but I've never quite gotten to that and a little row boat ferry that takes you across the river to the pretty little seaside village of Walberswick.
Southwold has a range of excellent eateries, independent retailers, galleries and gift shops.
Fish and Chips here are great from anyone but I prefer mine from Mrs T's sat in the harbour listening to the masts and sail lines clinking. A great place to watch the sun go down over Walberswick and the marshes too.
My all time favourite ice cream is H&J (now available in Norwich, Beccles and Aldeburgh too!).
There is plenty of free parking at Southwold but you may have to circle a few times at peak periods to find a spot. Paid for parking at the the pier.
