Epic Red River Gorge is only an hour away. Climbers, hikers, and tourist come from all around the world to see its unique, untouched beauty, but me and Jen don't take it for granted. We've logged quite a few hikes and a few climbs!
It doesn’t get much better than a long hike in the gorge, and then sitting down for an Ale 8 and fresh hot made to order pizza at Miguel’s!

Located in quiet Grey Hawk, KY, Flat Lick Falls is a lesser known Kentucky treasure. It is surrounded by a park with grills to cook out on, and a large picnic shelter. Short hiking trails lead through the woods around the falls. Truly stunning, a great place to swim and spend the day in the cool water swimming hole beneath the falls. Best visited on weekdays.
Directions: Take US 421 to Gray Hawk. At the US 421 and Hwy 1071 Junction, turn west on Hays Road for 100 feet, then turn left on Lower Hays for 1mile, then turn right (just before the low water bridge), and go ½ mile, then turn left into Flat Lick Falls Recreational and Scenic Area.

Little known, and newly opened to the public, LMNP is a fun day hike, that will reward you with a stunning view of Waco and Irvine. Very seldom will you encounter another hiker, so there is plenty of solitude and serenity to be had at the pinnacle.
