The famous Conservatory of Herod of Attica was the last monumental edifice built in antiquity in the Acropolis area. Its three-storey tent is preserved at a height of 28 m and is characterized by its rich plastic structure. For the wooden roof of the monument was used the expensive Lebanese cedar and most likely the housing covered the entire monument. In fact, no traces of the apparently huge roof's internal supports have been detected, which is, even for today's data, a construction feat.
