Jalan-jalan

If you're coming in winter, I recommend 4 wheel drive.

Our cabin is about 3/4ths of a mile down a maintained gravel road. It's generally easy to access but when there's been a snow storm, it does take the county a little while to get to roads plowed. 4 wheel drive is always a good idea in Montana, we're known for our natural beauty, not for good roads.

Bring water shoes and a sweater... even in summer.

Summers in Montana are BEAUTIFUL! the days are warm, sometimes downright hot, but the evenings and mornings can be cool, as can the temperatures when hiking at higher elevations. Bring a sweater! As for our water, it's as clear as it can be but the shores (lake, river and creek) are rocky and not always fun to walk on barefoot. Water shoes will help!

Horse Back Riding and Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park, which is an absolute must visit, now requires reservations to enter during the busiest parts of the year. Reservation information can be found on the park's website (nps.gov). Make your reservations early! The other thing that fills up fast around here is horse back riding. The Cheff Ranch, located just down the road in Charlo, offers shorter horse back rides, as well as longer jaunts through the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

Flathead Native American Reservation

Welcome to the Flathead Reservation! It's home to the Bitterroot Salish, Kootenai and Pend d'Oreilles tribes, also known as the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Nation, or CSKT. The reservation was created by the Treaty of Hellgate in 1855.
