6th Century BC racecourse stadium built entirely by marble.
For the best view of the site, and only if you feel adventurous, start your walk from Archimidous 11 street.
There you will see a Sports Centre which has its gates always open like the attached image.
Go in through the gates, past a couple of buildings and make your way up the Kalimarmaro.
Once you reach the top you will be at the top of the stadium. If you walk towards the edge you will also be rewarded with the BEST view of the Acropolis.
This is my secret spot and you will not find in any guide.
The guards and officials working in the sports centre are not really bothered with people walking in unless you are super unlucky and the guard is in a bad mood and he may ask you to leave :) .But it has never happened.
You could give him a big smile and he will probably invite you for coffee and biscuits.

Follow the route map for an amazing stroll around the monuments:
A very good stroll is to start at Thission METRO and walk along the pedestrian route.
(1) The Parthenon ❤️
(2) Acropolis Museum
(3) Ancient Agora - (Monastiraki - especially the Temple of Hephaestus !)
(4) Plaka district
(5) Roman Agora - stroll around, so much nice to see - especially at night when its nicely lit
(6) Filopappou Hill
Walk up the hill for an amazing view of the Parthenon and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus
-- if you do this walk in the evening, it is a different experience altogether ❤️

Super quaint and lovely lush greenery.
Very near is also The Panathenaic Stadium, Zappion and the Temple of Zeus.
