It displays Melaka maritime history and the golden age of Melaka Sultanate as the Emporium of the East.Measuring 34 meters high,36 meters long and eight meters wide, the 'loot' inside includes models of famous ships, maps, cargo and their passengers that once sailed into Melaka waters and left their mark on its shores.

It is said,this museum was once part of the large warehouse complex (Guanchang) north of the Melaka River when Admiral Cheng Ho docked in Melaka.The famous Cheng Ho is the Ming Dynasty Admiral who visited Melaka many times while on the way to the western Ocean from 1405-1433.The museum exhibits much evidence of cultural exchange between local and Chinese ethic groups,among others,the property vessels,tea houses and other navigation tools.

Proclaimation of Malaya's was made by Malaysia's first Prime Minister,Tunku Abdul Rahman at Padang Pahlawan,This memorial houses invaluable exhibits of the country's struggle leading to the independence.
