You can eat in the restaurant for fine dining or sit on the deck where it's more casual. The food quality goes up and down from average to really good - depending on who the current chef is. But you can't beat the location - especially on one of those balmy summer's nights.

It's so close and it's right opposite the beach. It can be busy but they do a decent brekkie and the coffee is good.

This iconic place does some pretty great pizza to eat in, but it can be hectic. The grocery section is amazing and has lovely things for a picnic or pre-prepared meals

This is your cheap and cheerful pizza shop of choice in the area. They do all the standard suburban pizza stuff but some half decent gourmet as well. They do a good job.

Creme brulee tarts with quince, cronuts, chunky pies, apple pies, sausage rolls - all made with real buttery homemade pastry and all soooo soooo good. Worth the trip but I stress, BE EARLY.

Hard to categorise this one - best to call it an old-school neighbourhood Italian place but with a next generation edge. Such good value for money and really good food. And I absolutely love the fit out.

It's a chain and it can be a bit noisy and hectic, but they do really good burgers! Pretty sure the kids order on-line before they go to streamline things but also choosing a quieter time of day would be best.

This is an easy walk that's about 4 km return (don't quote me on that). There are stunning views at the end of Bushrangers Bay and if you go in the morning or around sunset you will definitely encounter kangaroos on the path.
There is a longer walk that you can do from the lighthouse at Cape Schank - just look at the Parks Vic website.

There is a longer walk that you can do from the lighthouse at Cape Schank - just look at the Parks Vic website.
Lovely wetland walk. Lots of nature. Peace and quiet. Sometimes you can see koalas and emus. You will usually see a wallaby or two and lots of birds.

Stunning place. Very dramatic scenery great in all weather but go appropriately dressed and sturdy shoes. You can just go to the lookout if you're not fond of rock hopping.
Best at low tide and you'll be driving on a dirt road for a bit.

Great at all times of day - we love going in the evening. Fishermen here in all weather - most of them happy to chat about their catch and we're they're from.
Especially exciting in stormy weather when the wind's from the North.

One of our favourite walks in Mornington. Park above Mills Beach, walk all the way to the end and up the track along the cliffs. Stunning views out over the bay and back along the coast to the yacht club. Sometimes you'll see dolphins out in the bay and there are usually lots of little wrens and silvereyes depending on the time of day. Also good for watching seabirds.
