We will explore Lake Duluti in Arusha on a hike and boat trip together and learn about the animals and plants. Lake Duluti is especially known for the numerous bird species that can be found there. You can also meet amphibians and monkeys on the boat tour. Afterwards we watch the sunset with a cool drink. We will walk from the starting point to the boat dock. We can also pick you up by arrangement.

Bicycling tour around Arusha National Park. We meet at the Hobby Fast Food- our non profit café. Then we ride down to the old Moshi road, pass churches and mosques and the place where we have our market on Thursdays and Sundays. After that we continue at the big road until Momela road – The road to the Arusha national park. There you will see coffee plantations, and we will tell you about what we Tanzanians grow here. If you look up you will even see Mount Meru. After that we leave the big road and go by the road up to Usa River, where the guide will tell you about the water drainage system and tell you about how they used that to feed the big flower plantation, which used to be here. You still see the greenhouses. If you are lucky, you will even see some of the wild animals living here - zebras, antelopes many kinds of monkeys and birds. After a little break there you continue through the village, where you will pass a lot of shops and children. The children will call HI you Mzungu and run after you. Then we continue down again, and stop at our café. This café is driven by volunteers from URYDO. There we will have a soda, and you can buy bites or order delicious local food and eat at our roof top terrace with a view over the life in Usa River- even Mount Meru and Killimanjaro if the weather is clear.

When its lunchtime, you will get to eat local foods and drink local beer or other non-alcoholics at local food stalls and famous local eating spots. We talk about the origin of the food and how to get a good price. We continue to the butcher. Then we return to the café and prepare the food together. As we cook the food we talk about the Tanzanian kitchen and which part food plays in Tanzanian life. We talk about the different tribes, and their different traditions in regard to food. My name is Johnny I'm Tanzanian i was born here in Kilimanjaro at Materuni village. I'm chagga by tribal. Materuni village is the last village before Kilimanjaro National park. Once you will visit my village you will register at the village office after that youre tour will begin is 45 minutes from the office to the waterfalls. On the way to the waterfalls you will see bananas and coffee plantations and learn more about my culture and the life of the villagers not only that but also to see Moshi town view point and spectacular view of mount kilimanjaro. After waterfalls you will get back and have short break while you waiting for coffee lesson and you will learn how coffee is processed picking, driying, pounding, roasting, grinding up to drink in local way. Hello! Starting with the meeting point known Clocktower having an amazing and unique history of the place will be familiar for some time . T hen a head straight to Mwenge tour where Arusha declaration was done by our firat president Mwl. julius Nyerere with Abeid Karume the fist president of zanzibar, on the way we will pass at the Ngorongoro building known as the head office of conservators. Having pictures and relaxing a while at Arusha declarations then we will have a walking to an oldest market since we were colonized by German and now is called central market that selling vegetables, fruits taking photos with chagga mama and maasai mama also we will take a walk to Maasai curious where maasai handcrafts are made and sold hope you will buy some. If you still have energy we will walk to a big mall in arusha known shoppers mall to buy different staff for your own, this destination it depend if still have enough energy to walk. At our workshop, you will get the opportunity to experience a day at Afrikan Wear Design. After your arrival, we will give you an introduction to our history and what we do. You will get to know the team and take a look at their work process. After that Mama Hokororo will sit down with you and teach you how to make Tanzanian jewelry which you can take home afterward. Following that you get the chance to experience real Tanzanian lunch. We meet at Kilimanjaro Airport or in Arusha and drive to Ngorongoro. The scenic drive takes about 4 hours and we pass Lake Manyara and climb up the Rift Valley and up to Ngorongoro. Your game drive starts as we enter Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lions, leopards and elephants frequent the area around the crater rim. We will stop at the crater lookout and continue to either Rhino Lodge or the budget option, camping on the crater rim. The lodge is perched just off the crater rim and run by members of my community. Welcome drink followed by buffet dinner if you chose for the lodge, delicious private chef prepared meal if you opt to camp. Get to bed early to be ready for tomorrow. Day 2 Today we will climb down Empakai Crater. This is the baby brother of Ngorongoro Crater. We will spot wildlife on our way there and descend with packed lunch. A warrior will join our hike and you can ask him and myself anything you want about our culture. We climb up again and return to the camp (standard option) or Rhino Lodge (premium option). Day 3 Today we rise early to drive into the Ngorongoro Crater. We bring packed lunch and we try to see the Big 5 and many other beautiful animals. We will stop over with the rangers to discuss their challenges and how they help keep our flora and fauna alive and well, especially how they protect our endangered rhino. We drive out of the crater again in late afternoon and return to the lodge. Day 4 Today is your last day with us and we will drive to my village to meet with the Maasai community. You will learn about our lives, how we see the future and how we manage the opportunities and challenges of living in a conservation area. We will then return to Arusha or to Kilimanjaro. I suggest adding our Zanzibar stay to this safari. Other things to note The price displayed is the price per person for a group of 6 adults sharing in green season. The price is higher for smaller groups and in peak season. We do however have discounts for children!

To begin the activity, we will meet at the departure location - Mount Meru hotel (pickups can be arranged from various locations at an extra cost). We will take a 20-30minute drive through the Sekei villages to our destination: Themi falls leisure park. After arriving, we will take care of formalities at the gate and begin our hike through the peaceful forests. The hike is medium paced, 30-40mins through the quietness of the well preserved Themi leisure park. We will arrive at our destination (Themi waterfalls) at around mid-afternoon. You will have lunch and drinks in a very eco-friendly manner. If you wish to go for a swim in the waterfall's natural swimming pool, please bring swimming gear. Typically we will spend as much time as you want at the waterfalls. When you've had enough of it, we will begin our walk back to the gate where you have a choice of either walking back for the active trekkers or taking a car. Other things to note Pickup location is flexible. Transport can be arranged from various locations in and out of Arusha; please inquire if you can be picked up from your location before you dismiss.
