Some nights you can see the colors change during the sound and light show. There is a bar and you can have a brandy and watch your favorite stars in the shadow of the Parthenon. This is also one of the best places to buy totally unique gifts because out front they sell the Greek versions of movie posters.

Flanked by the Acropolis and tourist-packed Plaka on one side and low-key Petralona on the other side, Koukaki is an ideal place to wander around, discover small cafés and bistros, or simply experience Athens like the locals.
Anafiotika is the cluster of small houses built on the slopes of the Acropolis above the Plaka. It's like being on a Greek Island. It's named Anafiotika because the original inhabitants were stone masons who came from the island of Anafi to build Athens in the mid 19th century. The hill is home to the Filopappos Monument, the Socrates Prison, the ancient Koilis Street, two picturesque churches, as well as the old National Observatory and the Dora Stratou Theater.

It offers a variety of baked goods, such as baguettes (yes, real French baguettes), croissants, and a plethora of fresh bread, cakes, and traditional sweets. Even better is that next door is Drupes & Drips where you can get some fresh coffee to accompany your breakfast from the bakery.
