It is a place where a turning point of Albanian history took place. The small principalities in Albania swore to an alliance under the guidance of George Kastrioti (Skenderbeg). They soon began fighting off the Ottomans. You will see marvelous views of the city and coastline. each castle was built so that when a fire alarm is lit, it will be seen in other fortresses.
